From account creation to technical analysis basics — everything a crypto beginner in Lithuania needs to know: exchanges, candlesticks, support/resistance, taxes and where to learn more.

Cryptocurrency trading involves significant risk, including the possibility of losing all invested capital. This article is educational and is not financial advice.

Every week people join the LCA Discord server with the same question: 'Where do I start?' This article provides a step-by-step guide specifically for the Lithuanian market — from choosing an exchange to technical analysis basics and paths for further learning.

Step 1: Choose an Exchange (the post-MiCA reality)

Important in 2026: MiCA regulation has already removed USDT and is progressively closing leveraged perp trading for EU residents on regulated exchanges. Spot trading still works, but for active trading the reality has shifted.

For spot trading (no leverage): regulated EU exchanges

  • Bitvavo, Kraken, Coinbase — MiCA-compliant, EUR deposit via SEPA, KYC required
  • Binance — still works for EU users, but USDT trading and futures features are restricted
  • Suitable for first BTC/ETH purchase, long-term holding, transferring to self-custody

For leveraged / perp trading: BingX

After MiCA, retail leveraged trading on EU-regulated exchanges has become heavily restricted. BingX is an international exchange with a wide range of spot and futures markets, used by a large part of our community. Register through the LCA partnership link, deposit at least 300 USDT, trade actively, and you'll unlock a special Discord role with access to an extra analytics channel (#partnership-charts) — completely free.

Step 2: KYC Verification

All regulated exchanges require identity verification (KYC). You will need an identity document (passport or ID card), a selfie with the document, and sometimes proof of address. Verification typically takes 15–60 minutes.

Step 3: Technical Analysis Basics — This Is the Foundation

Most beginners skip this step and just 'invest' without any understanding of price. This is the most common mistake. LCA teaches technical analysis from the ground up:

Candlesticks

A candlestick is the fundamental element of a price chart. Each candle shows 4 data points: the opening price, closing price, highest price, and lowest price within a selected period. A green candle means price rose. Red means it fell. Candlestick shapes and groupings reveal market psychology and potential reversals.

Support and Resistance

Support level — a price zone where price has historically bounced upward multiple times. Resistance level — a zone where price has historically stalled and dropped. These levels are psychological, because thousands of traders see them simultaneously. LCA Discord channels discuss current support and resistance levels daily.

Price Structure and Patterns

Price moves in structures: higher highs and higher lows = uptrend. Lower highs and lower lows = downtrend. Patterns (e.g. head and shoulders, double bottom, flag) are recurring price structures that often indicate direction. LCA Study Club begins with these basics before moving to advanced methodologies.

Step 4: Risk Management — More Important Than Any Strategy

  • Never invest more than you can afford to lose — this is not a cliché, it is a rule
  • Start with small amounts — prioritise learning over profit-seeking
  • Always use Stop Loss — mechanical loss limitation is mandatory
  • Do not use leverage until you have at least 6–12 months of experience
  • Risk no more than 1–2% of your portfolio per single trade

Step 5: Crypto Taxes in Lithuania 2026

This is the topic most beginners avoid — and make a mistake. Per VMI's Sep 2025 guidance, for individuals trading occasionally (not as a registered activity):

  • Profit up to €2,500/year — 0% (tax-free allowance). That's the actual profit (sale price minus acquisition cost, FIFO method).
  • Above €2,500 — 15% personal income tax (GPM) only on the excess (not the full amount).
  • From 2026-01-01 — progressive rates apply to higher total annual income (20% up to €82,962, 25% up to €138,270, 32% above).
  • Crypto-to-crypto swaps (BTC → ETH, USDT → USDC) are taxable events — not only fiat off-ramp.
  • Declaration — FR0462 form via VMI e-declaration by May 1.
  • Every trade must be recorded — LCA Dashboard automates this.

Important: if you trade frequently, systematically, and for profit, the VMI may reclassify you as "individual activity" — then you're taxed from the first euro at progressive rates. This threshold is being applied more strictly in 2026.

Consult a tax professional for your specific situation. Rules may change.

Step 6: Where to Learn More — LCA Study Club

Once you have the basics down, the next logical step is structured learning. LCA Study Club is a ~7-month programme that takes you from TradingView basics and candlestick analysis through to advanced harmonic patterns and the LCA team's own methodologies — the same ones that allowed precise identification of the ETH and BTC tops.

  • Structured learning plan — from basics to advanced level
  • Practical assignments every week — real market situation analysis with clear examples
  • Live sessions — task reviews and deep-dives into topics
  • Q&A support throughout the entire process
  • End of each month — theoretical test, pass threshold ≥70%
  • Topics: TradingView basics, candlestick analysis, support/resistance, patterns, strategies, advanced harmonics, LCA methodologies

Study Club pricing by level: Clubs 1–2 — 100 USDT, Club 3 — 150 USDT, Club 4 — 300 USDT, Clubs 5–6 — 500 USDT, Club 7 — 2,000 USDT. Each level requires successful completion of the previous one.

Conclusion

Crypto trading in Lithuania in 2026 is accessible to everyone. The important thing is to start correctly: choose a regulated exchange, learn technical analysis basics, manage risk, and properly declare taxes. Most importantly — learn in a community, not alone. LCA is here.
