How to Spend Crypto in Lithuania in 2026: Cards, Apple Pay and What to Actually Expect

Crypto cards work in Lithuania now — a virtual card in your Apple Pay wallet, spendable anywhere Mastercard is accepted. But the cashback has conditions the ads do not lead with. Here is how it actually works.

A couple of years ago, "how do I actually spend crypto in Lithuania" had no good answer. You sold on an exchange, waited for a SEPA transfer, then paid with a bank card. In 2026 the middle step is gone: a crypto card lets you pay directly, with the conversion happening at the moment of purchase.

How a crypto card works

The card is not a "crypto account at the till". The merchant always receives euros. When you pay, your stablecoins are converted to euros at that moment, and the shop sees an ordinary Mastercard transaction with no idea crypto was involved.

  • The balance is held in stablecoins — not in volatile BTC or ETH.
  • Conversion happens at purchase time at the prevailing rate.
  • Accepted anywhere Mastercard works — in store and online.

This matters for tax: in Lithuania, paying for goods or services with crypto is a disposal, and therefore a taxable event — not only selling for euros. See our article on crypto tax for the detail.

The OKX Card — what actually applies in Lithuania

The OKX Card launched on 28 January 2026 across the European Economic Area, so it works in Lithuania. The things worth knowing before you order one:

  • The card is virtual only — there is no physical plastic. You add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay and pay with your phone.
  • You can spend USDC or USDG; both are converted to euros automatically.
  • There is no separate transaction or FX fee — a 0.1% market spread applies on conversion.

Cashback: two conditions the ads skip

The cashback is real, but it has two limits worth knowing up front so there is no disappointment:

  • Rewards accrue only on spend funded with USDG (Paxos Global Dollar). Paying with USDC earns nothing at all.
  • The base 2% tier is capped at €10 a month. In practice that means 2% applies to roughly the first €500 of monthly spend, and nothing above it.
  • Higher OKX VIP tiers raise both the rate and the cap — up to 10% with a €1,000 monthly cap at VIP 4 and above.

Honestly: if you buy coffee and groceries, 2% of €500 is €10 a month — pleasant, but not life-changing. The card's real value is convenience: no selling, no waiting for a SEPA transfer, no third step. The cashback is a bonus, not a reason.

What to check with any crypto card

  • Whether it works in Lithuania. Plenty of cards are announced "for Europe" while the EEA list omits Lithuania or carries exceptions.
  • What the balance is held in. If a card spends BTC directly, every purchase is both a taxable event and price risk.
  • Every fee: conversion spread, monthly fee, ATM withdrawal fee, inactivity fee.
  • The cashback conditions — which currency, what cap, whether you must hold the exchange's token.
  • Who issues the card and whether they are EU-licensed. The exchange does not issue it; a partner does — worth knowing which.

The OKX Card details here were accurate at the time of writing (September 2026) per OKX Europe's published information. Terms, rates and caps change — check the current conditions with the provider before ordering. LCA is not a licensed financial institution and does not provide payment services.
