Crypto Signals: 8 Signs to Tell an Honest Provider from a Scam
Most paid crypto signal groups promise more than they can deliver. Here are eight signs to check before you pay, and what to do if you already have.
A signal is a suggestion: what to buy or sell, at what level to enter, where to put the stop-loss and where to take profit. A good one saves time, but it never guarantees a result. This field is full of people selling belief, so it is worth having a checklist.
This is educational material, not financial advice. Trading, especially with leverage, can lose your entire stake. Risk only what you can afford to lose.
The eight signs
1. It promises guaranteed or "almost guaranteed" profit
Any guarantee means they are not talking about the market. The Bank of Lithuania has repeatedly warned that a promise of earning without risk is a classic sign of fraud.
2. It only shows winners
An honest provider shows every signal, including losers, with dates and levels. If you only see profit screenshots and older signals are nowhere to be found, those are not results, they are ads.
3. The signal has no stop-loss and no risk
A signal without a stop-loss is only an opinion. A proper signal says how much you can lose if it is wrong, and that risk should be a small share of your account, not "everything on one".
4. It pressures you to hurry
"Only 3 spots left", "price goes up tomorrow", "last day". Urgency removes your chance to check, and checking is the last thing a scammer wants.
5. It asks for money to a personal account or in an obscure coin
A real company has a name, a registration code and a receipt. If you must pay to a personal crypto wallet with no document, you have nothing to argue from when something goes wrong.
6. It asks for access to your funds
Never hand over exchange login details, API keys with withdrawal rights or a recovery phrase. A signal provider does not need them, because you place the trade yourself.
7. It is unclear who is behind it
Look for real people, a company name, contacts and terms of service. If everything is nicknames in a group, there is nobody to ask if a dispute arises.
8. It charges a lot but does not teach
If you only get "buy here" with no reasoning, you are not learning and will have to pay forever. A good service explains the logic, so that over time you can decide for yourself.
What to check before you pay
- Can you see the full signal history, not just selected examples?
- Does every signal include entry, stop-loss and target?
- Are the terms clear: price, duration, does it renew automatically?
- Is there a free part you can try first?
- Do people talk about the provider publicly, not just in its own channels?
If you have already paid and suspect fraud
- Stop communicating and pay no "extra fees" to get money back.
- Collect evidence: transfer statements, chat screenshots, website addresses.
- Contact your bank or exchange to stop or flag the transactions.
- Report to the police and the Bank of Lithuania. The sooner, the better the chance something can still be stopped.
How we look at it
A community exists so people learn to think for themselves rather than just copy trades. Your decisions stay yours, no result is guaranteed, and the terms, prices and what you get are visible in advance on the services page.
